What Has Enervated this Thirsty Cat?
Enervated is a verb from the Latin word ēnervātus meaning “weakened”. Enervate means to “to feel drained of energy or vitality; weaken”. The term entered the English language towards the end of the 16th century
Something certainly seems to have drained the lifeforce from this poor, poor cat as she wearily lifts a paw to dip it into her water dish in a desperate attempt to hydrate. The cat’s tongue desperately licks and licks every drop of liquid off the paw before she dips the paw again and again for more water.
